In 1996, I registered Smack-Dab Digital Video Productions located here in Victoria, BC Canada.
I have had a long history working with community access television starting with McLean Hunter Cable TV in Ontario. I was responsible for producing a monthly show called Cheezy TV. I have also volunteered with Rogers Community Access TV and in 1996 I began volunteering at Shaw TV located in Victoria BC, where I was part of live multi camera installations for entertainment and sports documentation.
Recent clients include, National Research Council of Canada, Vancouver Island Construction Association. RE/MAX Alliance, Story Construction.
1997, I was Director of Operations for Mandelson Films Ltd, in Sidney, BC. I was responsible for the in-house video programming for the Sandown Raceway. I provided replay action of live harness racing for Federal Judges and microwave feed to the mainland for the purpose of off track betting and daily “show tapes”.
2002, I was a Videographer for CHUM Television. This position included on the spot news gathering, field directing, management of all aspects of camera operation and closely working with live on-air hosts. Ongoing training in news gathering techniques and technology advancement was expected with this position.
My diverse video production background combined with up to date technologies has given me the ability to accurately quote projects and also work together communicating with my clients achieving or surpassing their video production needs on time and on budget.
Thank you,
Eric Backman
